The Anthology of Art was a year-long exchange of ideas among 312 international artists and theorists, who answered the following question:In the context of contemporary art, what is your vision of a yet unknown art?

Jochen Gerz invited the first 12 participants (6 artists and 6 theorists) to produce a work for the website – a visual piece by each artist and a text by each theorist. The participants then invited a successor to realize a new contribution. Each generation of 12 contributions was posted on the Internet for two weeks.
